Unfortunately, we are not accommodating children for this adventure.

Can I bring a friend who is not a member of Ebony Beach Club?
While Ebony Beach Club is a space designed to accomodate the needs of black & people of color, we are inclusive of all backgrounds. Feel free to invite your friend along for the experience!

Is there a minimum age requirement for participants?
Yes, the trip is for adults aged 18 and above. IDs will be reviewed upon arrival.

What is the cost of the summer camp, and what does it cover?
All pricing and related costs are displayed on our website, starting at $2,000USD for the two-person villa. 

How do I reserve my spot for the Costa Rica Summer Camp?

Are flights included in the trip package, or do participants need to book their own?
Participants are 100% responsible for booking their flights to arrive on May 20th in order to take advantage of the included ground transportation shuttle from the airport. 

Can I choose my villa or roommates for the trip?
Yes, you can select your villa and roommates, with limitations based on villa size. All bookings for the same group must be paid using the same card and all patrons must fill out the camp questionnaire to ensure an experience curated to your specific needs.

What COVID-19 safety measures will be in place during the summer camp?
Villas will be thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. While masks are not enforced, participants are encouraged to take personal precautions.

Are there any vaccinations or health requirements for participants?
While there are no specific requirements for entry into Costa Rica, we recommend consulting the CDC and WHO guidelines for recommended vaccinations.

Is travel insurance recommended or required for the trip?
While not mandatory, travel insurance is highly recommended for any and all travel experiences. 

What activities are available, and do they require any prior experience?
Choose from surfing, fishing, diving, yoga, and meditation, or all of the above with instructors catering to all experience levels.

Is there a schedule of planned events and activities for the week?
Yes, along with the main activities, we have planned game nights, welcome and farewell dinners, campfires, a volleyball tournament, and more surprises!

Are there options for participants who want to opt out of certain activities?
Absolutely! This is your chance to explore Costa Rica at your own pace. We'll provide recommendations for alternative experiences.

Can I bring my equipment for activities like fishing and diving?
While you may bring your equipment if desired, it's already included in your package.

Is transportation provided for activities, or do participants need to arrange their own?
Transportation is included, with coordination of times and groups for your convenience.

What happens if there is inclement weather during the trip?
Rain or shine, we'll make the best of it! The focus is on connection, nature, and adventure.

Are there any cultural or local customs we should be aware of in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica is super chill! It’s important that we clean up after ourselves, respect the nature, and leave things how we found them. We recommend researching before your trip. Check out the attached link for some helpful tips!

Can I extend my stay in Costa Rica before or after the official camp dates?
Yes, you can extend your stay, but you will be responsible for your arrangements before and after the camp dates.

Is there a refund policy if I need to cancel my participation?

Are there any group discounts available for families or friends traveling together?
While there are no formal discounts, larger groups will benefit from splitting the package rates per person, at the expense of sharing a bed.

Will there be free time for personal exploration, and are there suggested local attractions?
Absolutely! We encourage personal exploration, and we'll provide suggestions for local attractions.

Do you know how I can connect with other participants before the trip?
For those who book their Summer Camp experience will be added to our group chat two weeks prior to our departure.

Are there any restrictions on bringing personal belongings or souvenirs back from Costa Rica?

What is the currency used in Costa Rica, and are credit cards widely accepted?
Costa Rica's official currency is the Costa Rican colón (CRC). While credit cards and apple pay are widely accepted in almost every establishments, it's advisable to carry some local currency for smaller purchases and in more remote areas just in case you want to buy that fresh coconut from the local homie. Are there any language barriers, and is English commonly spoken in Costa Rica?
Spanish is the primary language spoken in Costa Rica, serving as the country's official language. However, most people & workers in Playa Negra speak English fluently. Brush up your spanish on Duo Lingo, but you will be just fine with minimal knowledge. Pura Vida!

What should I pack for the trip, and are there any dress code requirements?
Upon confirmation of your trip booking, we will provide you with an official packing list tailored to your adventure. Rest assured, we've curated a comprehensive list to ensure you're fully prepared for your journey, including any specific dress code requirements.

How accessible are the accommodations for individuals with mobility challenges?
We strive to accommodate the needs of all participants. Please contact us to discuss any specific mobility requirements, and we'll work to ensure suitable accommodations are available and feasible for your needs.

Can participants join the summer camp after it has officially started?
Unfortunately, participants cannot join the summer camp after it has officially commenced. Due to the extensive preplanning involved, we require a finalized participant list before the start date to ensure a seamless experience for all involved.

If the remainder of your payment is not approved on the due date, June 2nd - 80% of your paid balance will be refunded to your account and you/your group will lose their spot.

If you have already paid in full, you may receive a full refund for up to 14 days following your booking, and a 80% refund if canceled on or before April 10th.

A 50% refund may be issued after June 2nd.

All bookings made on or after June 2nd must be paid in full.

No refunds will be available after June 12th. No exceptions.
